This position will be responsible for maintaining business unit websites, including CMS updates, redesign, monitoring and daily technical maintenance.  This position will incorporate graphics and video for all areas of the website.

 

Responsibilities:

Duties will include development and maintenance of the business unit websites, including but not limited to: CMS management, website layout design, HTML markup of text, graphics creation, and trouble-shooting.  This position will be held accountable for both technical and day-to-day results for specified areas of the station websites services.  Monitor technical issues/problems, provide routine testing and proactive maintenance of all assigned websites are required to maintain optimal reliability.

Will work closely with Creative Services to execute posting of marketing, promotion and sales-related projects onto corresponding web sites. 

Will interface regularly with Tribune Digital to ensure compliance with company directives is met.  He/she will ensure the Digital Team is kept abreast of content and production updates, and shared initiatives are executed appropriately.  This position will participate on conference calls as it relates to the development and progress of the websites.

Individual will work on projects as assigned.  He/she will be required to meet all deadlines and be responsible for the quality of end product.  Monitors interactive products such as polls, message boards, and live blogs for relevant and appropriate discussions, as well as adherence to the company’s terms of service.

Individual will have design responsibility for web, on-air, and print elements as needed.

This position will attend all Creative Services department meetings, and work with other departments as required. 

Miscellaneous duties as assigned by management of the station.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires at least 1 year of full-time professional web development experience. 
  • A degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Digital Media or Design, and Broadcast experience is preferred or previous equivalent work experience. 
  • Successful candidates must be able to hand-code custom layouts and pages in HTML and CSS. The ability to create graphic elements is required, as well as being able to execute online promotional campaigns and contests.
  • An astute attention to detail, with a strong acuity to user experience design is highly preferred.  
  • Experience with interactive projects and interest in new media desirable. 
  • Must have the ability to balance the demands of both and long short-term projects, while meeting daily deadlines. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are expected.
  • Broadcast television experience a plus.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
